Intelligent Control Solution

  • The intelligent control solution is a machine learning-related project that Mobiis is continuously working to secure development capability along with the development of EPICS-based control systems, and is a core future project of Mobiis. AI and deep learning, recently receiving market interest due to AlphaGo, are concepts related to machine learning, and Mobiis has secured capabilities in the control of large-scale systems and the storage, management, and information extraction of big data, in the process of developing the control system of large equipment, such as nuclear fusion reactors and accelerators.
    Mobiis is developing a proprietary machine learning engine in order to use these capabilities in the intelligent control of communication systems and large-scale production systems.

Reinforcement Learning Engine for Cognitive Networks

Currently, Mobiis has completed the development of a machine learning engine related to reinforcement learning, and is in discussion with Korean communications equipment companies and mobile communications network management solution suppliers for projects like the troubleshooting, QoS (Quality of Service) maintenance, and intellectualization of network management systems for mobile communications networks.
Due to the progress of networks, mobile communications network companies are feeling the limitation of the network management systems of the past, and are planning trial 5G services and an improvement of network management systems in time for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, so our reinforcement engine, applying machine learning to communications networks, will be able to be applied in accordance with the long-term network development trends (virtualization, intellectualization).

Crystal Structure Classification Using Machine Learning

X-ray diffraction refers to the phenomenon in which when incident x-ray is irradiated upon a matter, strong x-ray is directed in several particular directions different from the incident x-ray. The intensity and direction of x-ray diffraction differs based on the type and structure of atoms forming the matter, so studying the x-ray diffraction using these characteristics can yield to knowledge of the microstructure of matter. Today, x-ray diffraction is widely used in research on matter apart from basic science, as well as industrial fields such as the semiconductor and metal industries.

Our development of crystal structure automatic classification has the purpose of automatically analyzing the crystal structure of arbitrary matter using x-ray diffraction patterns. Using ICSD (Inorganic Crystal Structure Database), a large database containing information on the crystal structure of around 180,000 inorganic compounds, we are in the process of developing an automatic crystal structure analyzer by obtaining the x-ray diffraction pattern of each matter and inputting this information through machine learning.

Mobiis plans to focus on the intelligent control solution project in the future by securing personnel and capability in the field of machine learning, based on the EPICS-related precision control projects.
Just as we were able to become the first company in Korea to supply basic science S/W to ITER after 3 years of R&D, we will be the first to fulfill an accomplishment in intelligent control solutions within 5 years in a new field no other has succeeded in.
